Senior Lieutenant Vencislav Dunkin is a native of Razlog. The municipality announced a Day of Mourning in memory of the fallen pilot.
He is only 28 years old. People in town know that in just a week – on September 21, his wedding celebration was supposed to take place. He was going to marry his beloved – a young doctor from Pleven.
The two lived in Pleven. For the past 10 years, Senior Lieutenant Vencislav Dunkin has lived there precisely because he studied in Dolna Mitropolia.
The wedding celebration was to be held in the pilot's hometown, together with his close relatives and friends.
He is a fighter pilot since 2015, an instructor and an outstanding hope of our combat aviation.
A group of his friends and relatives went to Graf Ignatievo yesterday with the initial idea of witnessing the airshow planned for today. The bad news unfortunately catches up with them somewhere along the way.
Vencislav Dunkin also has an older brother who also graduated from the Air Force Academy in Dolna Mitropolia and is currently a helicopter pilot of the “Border Police”.
The people of Razlog call the fallen pilot the hero of the city, overtaken by a ridiculous fate.
