At the instruction of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, an urgent inspection was carried out after a leak signal from the wall of the "Pancharevo" dam, the Council of Ministers announced.
"Experts from "Irrigation Systems" have reported that this is a known problem with the concrete blocks of the siphon spillways of the “Pancharevo” dam, which has been in place for nearly 18 years.
There is no risk to the operational suitability of the facility, the dam is under continuous monitoring by the competent institutions.
The Prime Minister ordered the preparation of a report for valuation and implementation of the necessary repair activities.
Next week, the government will provide the necessary funding to eliminate the problem."
