Our ambition is not to submit a vote of no confidence or overthrow the government, but to live in a good country with prospects. This was stated to NOVA NEWS by Manol Peykov from PP-DB.

„I believe that our entry into the eurozone is a huge task for which we are willing to make certain compromises despite the serious mistakes of the government. Bulgaria is very divided, there are 8 parties in the parliament”, explained the deputy chairman of the Committee on Culture.

On the referendum on the euro, proposed by Rumen Radev, rejected by Kiselova:

„The Speaker of the National Assembly acted in a statesmanlike manner, which in itself is a rarity in Bulgarian politics at all. We know that this referendum, which the president no coincidence requested on May 9 as a gift to the Kremlin, is absolutely illegal. The lev does not need to be „defended”, because we have been in a currency board since 1999”, added Peykov.

When asked whether they would support GERB's proposal for Plamen Tonchev to become chairman of the Committee on Dossiers, the PP-DB MP said the following:

„Of course not. They are currently trying to retire him in an elegant way because of the Vratsa scandal. He is an extremely problematic figure and you will see during the discussion in parliament that quite unpleasant things will be heard about him”.

He also congratulated the Bulgarians on the Day of Letters.

„The most unifying Bulgarian holiday. The only one on which no one in our country has any contradictions. A holiday of the most precious thing we have. The only day on which I see only smiling faces”, shared with a smile the deputy chairman of the Committee on Culture.
