Heavy traffic is expected on the last of the weekends, NOVA reported.
There are already 4 repairs on the "Trakia" highway, which will be a prerequisite for major traffic jams. A total of 50 km are blocked along the section. Repair work is being carried out:
⇒ Between 10 and 23 km near Sofia;
⇒ Near Plovdiv, traffic is closed in the Sofia lane;
⇒ In the Sliven region, the section to Burgas is closed for 10 km - from 241st to 251st km;
⇒ A section in the area has been closed since Friday Pazardzhik – Plovdiv at km 98 - 106.
Since the start of the repairs, there have been several chain accidents.
-On May 15, a traffic accident near Plovdiv caused a 12 km traffic jam;
- There was also a chain accident on Sunday evening near Sofia;
- At the end of last week, a minibus driver died at km 17. He most likely got confused and entered the oncoming lane at the narrowing for the repairs and hit a truck head-on;
- A ridiculous accident also occurred at the entrance to Plovdiv yesterday. A truck stood vertically on the roadway. The reason - the vehicle's body was raised while driving. The driver was removed with a hoist and taken to hospital, with no injuries. It took 8 hours to remove the truck.
