Traffic has been restored on the Krichim - Devin road, in the section where a 40-meter retaining wall collapsed and one lane fell into the basin of the Vacha dam. The section is open only for the passage of passenger cars, Nova TV reports.

Although the road is open only for cars, there are still warning signs in several places that the section is still closed. The “Road Infrastructure” Agency reports that the restriction is only for heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tons.

However, a Nova TV team found that this ban is being ignored by truck drivers who are driving uncontrollably through the compromised section. Excavators have dug through the rocks and widened the section off the road, which temporarily takes over traffic. It is carried out in only one lane and is regulated by two traffic lights, one of which is not working. The road agency told Nova that they have commissioned a private company to study and strengthen the retaining wall. It is not yet clear when the actual repair will begin.

Passers-by say that they are crossing the section with fear. A family traveling from Plovdiv explains that this is the only option.

According to truck drivers who also pass through the section, although it is closed, there are also no signs indicating the restriction.
