For the second time today, we have to deal with the public with a case that is trivial enough, but because of the senseless insistence of some politicians to take responsibility for their own management decisions, we will have to clarify it. The case arose in connection with the public procurement for the so-called icons. Since some politicians manage crises in the same way they manage the truth - remotely and with an impeccable refusal to take responsibility, the truth usually catches up with them, but they insist on being the last to learn it. This was stated by Interior Minister Daniel Mitov during a briefing, quoted by novini.bg.
„The practice of purchasing icons as part of road safety materials was initiated by Minister Boyko Rashkov”, announced Mitov and showed a document with which then Minister Rashkov approved a plan, obliging the administration to purchase the items described in the relevant procedure.
„Approving the project for financing specific traffic safety activities, Minister Boyko Rashkov determines the types of items and preventive materials, both their number and their financial value. Subsequently, Minister Rashkov signs an order ordering a commission, in a composition determined by him, to take action to implement the project approved by him. In order to ensure publicity and transparency for the fulfillment of the set requirements when selecting contractors, Minister Rashkov orders in the same order that the invitation be published by the Guarantee Fund, on its official website and in a national daily newspaper. The commission is ordered to evaluate the proposed evaluations and select a contractor”, the Minister of Interior quotes the document.
“I ordered an inspection regarding a general order, in which some noticed small icons, which became the subject of a huge public discussion. The iconoclasts, the gossipers found themselves in their own trap. I watch them point fingers and put on a show. It's just that the drama is cheap and the actors are amateurs, and their script is from the last term. First they create the problem, then they condemn it and finally they take pictures on Facebook with it”, he explained. And he added that this happened on April 26, 2022.
„Then, with the personal signature of Boyko Rashkov, the purchase of icons for a car for Ascension Day or Spasovden and small icon magnets was approved. The purchase of these items was later signed by Boyko Rashkov's successor - Ivan Demerdzhiev. In general, the whole situation is "They are you, bride, Spasovden". The big talkers fell into their own trap. And I expect all the epithets and nonsense that they said in recent days and wrote on social networks to stick them on their foreheads. And to go with them”, Mitov is categorical.
According to him, the current order for icons will be reviewed.
„It is important when police officers go to classrooms and teach children the rules of road safety, to have visual materials with which to visualize this activity, which is important for the prevention of road injuries”, concluded Mitov.
A little earlier, Boyko Rashkov denied having announced an order for icons. „Even such an idea was not discussed in the ministry, in the political leadership, when I headed the ministry. Secondly, Minister Boyko Rashkov has not concluded a contract with anyone for the purchase of such objects and belongings, so whoever makes such statements must explain what it is about”, said Boyko Rashkov.
