The new Deputy Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) Radomir Cholakov assured that the regulator will make every effort to nip in the bud any speculative price increase before Bulgaria enters the eurozone.

He was also categorical that they will not use the CPC as a “bat“, nor will they apply double standards to commercial companies.

Our task is to prevent any market turmoil next year before and after the adoption of the euro. On the other hand, we do not expect that a speculative increase in prices will begin. I believe that the CPC will speak with its actions and results, commented Cholakov in an interview for “The Day Live“ on the air of NOVA NEWS, quoted by novini.bg.

He also assured that the Commission will not be a repressive body, although he noted that he expects political attacks in this direction.
“We will specify our actions very carefully, there will be no “our“ and “your“ companies. We will not go with the bat,“ explained Radomir Cholakov.

From his words it became clear that there is a desire to invite representatives of the Croatian CPC to our country so that we can draw from their experience when they entered the eurozone.

At the conclusion of the conversation, Cholakov pointed out that the regulator is quite bare in terms of staff due to the “shamefully low salaries“.

Many people have left and it is urgent to think about the remuneration and staffing of the staff, the Deputy Chairman of the CPC pointed out.
