Man swallowed drugs before police check in Kazanlak, died in hospital

A 36-year-old man died in a hospital after swallowing a white crystalline substance before a police check in Kazanlak. The incident occurred yesterday, May 28, the police reported.

They specify that at around 2:00 p.m., law enforcement officers stopped a car for inspection after a report of drug possession, which they had received earlier. Three men were traveling in the car – The 31-year-old driver and two passengers aged 36 and 39.

According to the older passenger, the 36-year-old man ingested the substance immediately before the police check. Initially, he refused a medical examination on the spot, but his condition deteriorated sharply during the check. He was immediately taken to the Emergency Medical Care Branch for examination.

A few hours later, despite the assistance provided, the man died in the hospital. An inspection of the scene was carried out, as well as an autopsy, which did not reveal any evidence of violence.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated at the Kazanlak Regional Office.
