By the end of the year, Bulgaria will receive 1.5 billion leva under the Recovery Plan. This was announced on the sidelines of parliament by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

"Since yesterday, we have seen the position of the European Commission after all these negotiations, which approves the request for amendment. From now on, there is only one step left until the second payment. Another law must be adopted by the National Assembly. The plan this year is to receive at least 1.5 billion euros in addition from the European Commission to avoid a liquidity crisis, because the projects under the plan are underway. We have paid out nearly 1.2 billion in just five months," he explained.

Donchev specified that at the moment our country has received 3 billion leva, with another 9 billion remaining.
The only law that needs to be adopted is the procedural rules for selecting a new composition of the Anti-Corruption Commission. They have already been approved by the EC and have been sent to the parliamentary committee for combating corruption. They are expected to be adopted next week.

A delegation from the EC will come to Bulgaria in the middle of next week to discuss the implementation of the national plan.
When asked whether the government has managed to reverse the country's debt trend, Tomislav Donchev replied: "Unfortunately, budget consolidation, i.e. "The course to zero deficit cannot be achieved in one year. Unfortunately, it will take three or four years. The point is that the course should follow this direction, that is, the deficit should be smaller and smaller each year."
