According to Nadezhda Yordanova, a member of parliament from “Democratic Bulgaria“ (DB), there is money for young doctors, especially if the leaks in the National Health Insurance Fund stop. At a press conference at the BTA press club in Kardzhali Yordanova commented that over 100 million leva could be saved just by stopping the leaks in the drug auctions in private hospitals.
According to the member of parliament, there could be better control over these costs with the introduction of SMS messages, through which it would be recorded that certain manipulations and hospitalizations are being performed for each Bulgarian citizen. “These are all measures that will leave money in the budget that we spend on healthcare“, said Yordanova and added that the problem has two components – on the one hand, extremely difficult access to specialization for young doctors and on the other hand, very low pay for the specialization period. The MP said that they will also insist on the valuation of the work of young doctors. “So, I hope that the wave of indignation that Toshko Yordanov's statement caused can be used to solve the problem that has existed for more than 20 years“.
As an occasion for her visit to Kardzhali region, Nadezhda Yordanova pointed to personal meetings with people in the Krumovgrad municipality and the explanation of how the introduction of the euro will affect the population.
“The state is not coping. What the National Revenue Agency (NRA) is doing is dropping media bombs, providing information without a specific methodology, and raising people's fears," said Yordanova, adding that the NRA data does not contain the prices of all products, yellow cheese and butter are missing, there is no methodology, and there are no regions of the country.
Nadezhda Yordanova described the creation of a state-owned chain of grocery stores as a wrong and populist left-wing measure, adopted under pressure from the “DPS – New Beginning“. According to the MP, there is no working state-owned store that offered enough good-quality goods. According to her, this is a measure that the government still does not know how to implement.
„Some 10 million have been allocated in the budget, but this is the most expensive PR campaign of a political party“, Yordanova also said and emphasized that low prices and good quality are guaranteed with more competition and without the presence of cartels, but the non-functioning Commission for the Protection of Competition has created conditions for such.
Nadezhda Yordanova also touched on regional issues in a comment that the gradual transition of mayors to „DPS - New Beginning“ is closely related to the list of projects financed by the state budget. „Unfortunately, the state in this case does not apply the same and fair method for all municipalities. If you switch to „DPS - New Beginning“, you start receiving money and your projects are financed. If you are not – "your projects are being held on to stumps," said Nadezhda Yordanova. In this regard, she added that it was no coincidence that they proposed the introduction of a principle according to which the first request for payment is first in law and the money should be allocated in the order in which the request for payment was received, which, however, was not supported as an idea.
