A farmer found a heavily corroded shell while cultivating agricultural land in the Svishtovo village of Hadzhidimitrovo, the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Veliko Tarnovo announced.
Upon inspection, it was assumed that it was a tank shell used in World War II.
The area of the incident has been cordoned off and is being guarded by the police until the arrival of a sapper group from the National Military University “Vasil Levski“.
In April, a specialized team from the National Military University “Vasil Levski“ destroyed a high-explosive fragmentation shell from World War II, found in the village of Iztotnik, Gabrovo municipality.
