After a short stay in Turkey, this afternoon a minibus with Polish registration arrived at the point of entry into Bulgaria, driven by 23-year-old man from Sofia.
This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The border police found that the vehicle was wanted in connection with suspicions of illegal migration. The truck was selected by Border Police officers for X-ray control.
During the inspection carried out together with customs officers, caches were found in the double floor and wall of the cargo compartment. 18 migrants were hidden in them – men of different ages, without travel documents, with an unknown identity.
The driver and the foreigners have been detained. Work on the case continues.
