A light plane has crashed on Australia's east coast, near Shellharbour Airport. Three people have died in the incident, New South Wales Police said.
According to the department, the crash occurred at around 10:00 local time near Shellharbour Airport, which is located 100 km south of Sydney.
„Rescue services arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a light plane crash. The plane crashed shortly after taking off from the airport and caught fire on impact, police said, adding that three people died in the incident.
Police have cordoned off the scene and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
