German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful called on Western countries in Brussels today to provide greater support to Ukraine before the onset of winter, which, in his words, will be of critical importance. This was reported by the Ukrinform agency, citing the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, BTA reports.
“Winter is of utmost importance. Ukraine must remain able to defend itself,“ said Wadeful. He specified that the Coalition of the Willing has discussed how to mobilize all resources so that Ukraine can withstand the upcoming winter period.
The minister emphasized that Germany bears a special responsibility in this matter and assured that “Ukraine can count on Germany at any time“.
Vadeful expressed confidence that at the upcoming EU meeting in December, permission for Ukrainians to use frozen Russian assets will be approved. According to him, Berlin supports all steps aimed at providing sufficient financial and technical assistance to Ukraine so that it can effectively defend itself against Russian aggression.
