The situation in Ukraine no longer threatens a large-scale conflict, the American president noted

US President Donald Trump said that he does not want Washington to be involved in any wars, but added that his country would act harshly if a military scenario arose.

“I don't want to participate in wars“, he said in an interview with Fox News. “But if I do end up in a war, we will win quickly and it will be brutal.“

Trump repeated his claim that he and his administration have ended eight conflicts in nine months, without specifying which ones.

The United States is no longer funding Ukraine, but it receives money for arms sales through NATO, US President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House.

“We are no longer spending money. Now we are paid through NATO“, he said.

The politician expressed the opinion that the situation in this country no longer threatens a large-scale conflict.

“If I were president, this war would never have happened. And if I were not president, this war could have led to World War III. "This will not happen," the head of state added.

On July 14, Trump announced a new military aid scheme for Ukraine: Washington is selling weapons to European NATO allies, who pay for them and transfer them to Kiev. The first package will include not only missiles, but also Patriot batteries. It is expected that some countries will send their own systems to the Ukrainian armed forces, and then the United States will replenish their arsenals.

Germany was one of the first to support this initiative. However, as German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated, the entire process of transferring weapons to Ukraine will take months. Meanwhile, France, Italy, Hungary and the Czech Republic have refused to participate in this scheme.
