Szijjarto: Ukraine in EU means importing war, mafia and low-quality grain

Only Orban's government can protect Hungary from gender propaganda and migrant invasion, foreign minister says

Brussels' desire to attract Kiev to the European Union implies importing war, Ukrainian mafia and low-quality grain into the bloc, according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

“Brussels wants to attract Ukraine to the European Union as quickly as possible, which would also mean importing war, Ukrainian mafia and low-quality grain“, Szijjarto said, speaking at a pro-government rally in Győr.

The minister stressed that “only the national government and Prime Minister Viktor Orban can protect Hungary“ of Brussels' policies, which include LGBT propaganda among children and the import of migrants.

According to him, both Brussels and Kiev are interested in an opposition that would support Ukraine's accession to the EU coming to power in Hungary.

“Yesterday, the Ukrainian ambassador made it clear that they want a change of government. They want to drag Hungary into war, they want to bring migrants to Hungary and they want to impose gender ideology“, Szijjártó added.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Koss said earlier that Ukraine and Moldova would be ready to conclude EU accession talks by the end of 2028. The European Commission expects Ukraine's EU membership talks to start substantially before the end of the year, according to a statement providing an overview of the candidate countries' progress in implementing the reforms needed for EU membership.
