Rubio on US peace plan: We expect difficult but necessary concessions from Kiev and Moscow

The Washington administration is developing proposals for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, taking into account the positions of Moscow and Kiev, and believes that both sides must make concessions, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.

"This requires a detailed exchange of serious and realistic ideas", Rubio wrote in X. "Achieving lasting peace requires both sides to agree to difficult but necessary concessions", he added.

"That is why we are developing and will continue to develop a list of potential proposals to end this war, based on information from both sides", the US Secretary of State stressed.

Western media reported earlier, that the US is developing a new plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and is consulting with Russia on it.

Axios noted that the US proposals envisage Kiev giving up certain territories in exchange for the US providing security guarantees to Ukraine and Europe.

According to NBC News, the US president approved the new 28-point plan earlier this week.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Washington is proposing that Kiev abandon the idea of ​​joining NATO for at least a few years.
