At least 11 people were injured in a Ukrainian strike on the Russian republic of Udmurtia, a region known for its defense industry, local authorities said, quoted by DPA, BTA reported.

Three people were hospitalized, the regional health minister said.

According to unconfirmed reports on social media, the strikes may have hit a key enterprise producing missile systems, including the "Iskander" and "Oreshnik". Images posted by locals show fires and structural damage. Some sources claim that the target of the attack was a rocket engine manufacturing plant, although there is no official confirmation.

Governor Alexander Brechalov said earlier that the facility was hit by drones, confirming damage and casualties, without specifying the exact location or nature of the facility.

In the republic's capital, Izhevsk, airport operations were temporarily suspended due to an air alert.

Ukrainian media earlier reported that a "Flamingo" cruise missile, not drones, was used in the attack. For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense systems shot down five such missiles and more than 170 drones, without giving details of any damage.

Analysts note that the alleged target is located about 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine, highlighting Kiev's ability to strike deep into Russia.
