In an exclusive interview with the IHA agency (IHA), Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bagai denied that Iran had fired missiles at Turkey, the "Türkiye Today" website reported, quoted by BTA.

In the interview, Bagai accused Washington of a deliberate strike on a girls' elementary school in the Iranian city of Minab with two "Tomahawk" missiles, which killed 175 children, and called on Ankara and the countries of the region to view the conflict as "a war against their shared identity and civilization".

"The claims that Iran fired missiles at Turkey or Azerbaijan are lies," Bagai stressed.

"The Iranian armed forces are extremely precise in selecting targets. We are targeting US military bases and facilities used to attack Iran," he said.

"Iran has a natural right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter," the spokesman told the Turkish agency.

He said Tehran has no intention of attacking neighboring countries. We will not attack any neighboring country, Baghai emphasized in the interview.

"Our defensive actions are aimed solely at the sources and starting points of the military attack targeting Iran", the spokesman added.

He added that the ammunition allegedly fired from Iran towards Turkey would be carefully investigated.

"Iran has never had and has no intention of undertaking such an operation against Turkey", he stressed.

Bagahai emphasized that the Iranian-Turkish border is one of the safest areas between the two countries.

"The religious, historical and cultural ties and the closeness between us and Turkey are very clear", the ministry spokesman added, adding that the travel of Iranians between the two countries clearly shows the strong ties and feelings between Iranians and Turks.

In In the interview, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed his belief that Iran, Iraq, Turkey and the local government in the Iraqi Kurdistan province will take coordinated action to prevent the US and Israel from exploiting the situation to destabilize the border area shared by the three countries.

The spokesman also warned of the possibility of "false flag operations" aimed at creating conflict between Iran and its neighbors.

Since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East, there have been reports of three missiles being fired at Turkish territory. In all three cases, the missiles were intercepted by NATO air defenses.
