A huge fireball formed early this morning in the sky over the city of Isfahan, likely caused by a US air strike, and Tehran hit a tanker full of oil in the Persian Gulf, the Associated Press reported, BTA reported.
The strikes prove that the month-long war between the US and Israel against Iran is intensifying.
US President Donald Trump, who insists on the thesis that there is progress in diplomatic talks for a ceasefire, shared a video on his social network Truth Social, showing the massive strike on the city of Isfahan. According to data from NASA fire-tracking satellites, the explosions occurred near Mount Sofeh. Iranian military units are believed to be stationed there. Tehran has not yet confirmed the attack.
A satellite image taken shortly after the start of the 12-day war with Iran in June suggests that Tehran may have transferred enriched uranium to its nuclear facility in Isfahan. The image, taken by the Pleiades Neo satellite, shows a truck loaded with 18 blue containers entering a tunnel at the Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center about two weeks before the US bombed the facility.
According to analysts, the truck likely carried most of Iran's stockpile of 60% enriched uranium. Nuclear weapons require uranium with a purity of 90%.
Meanwhile, Israel said four more of its soldiers were killed in its invasion of Lebanon, and the UN reported the deaths of two more soldiers from the world organization's peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi today reiterated that Tehran was only attacking American forces in the Middle East.
"Our operations are aimed at the aggressors who neither respect Arabs nor Iranians, nor can they guarantee any security", Araghchi wrote on the social network Ex. "It is high time to expel American forces", he added.
Nevertheless, Iranian attacks on civilian targets continued. An Iranian drone hit a Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai's territorial waters. The strike caused a fire that has since been extinguished, Dubai's media service said.
Four people in Dubai were also injured by falling debris from an Iranian drone intercepted over a residential area.
Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry said three ballistic missiles fired at Riyadh had been destroyed by Saudi air defense systems. Falling debris from the intercepted drone caused minor damage to six homes near Riyadh.
Air raid sirens also sounded in Jerusalem.
