Iran tests its "nuclear weapon" - they are called the Strait of Hormuz, wrote on the social network X Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

"It is not clear how the truce between Washington and Tehran will develop," he noted and emphasized that "the potential of the strait is inexhaustible".

In a separate publication, Medvedev welcomed as a success for the Islamic Republic the agreement of US President Donald Trump to discuss a 10-point proposal presented by Iran.

"The very fact that Trump agreed to discuss a 10-point plan marks the success of the Iranians. It is unclear whether Washington will accept the plan, as it includes compensation for Iran, the continuation of the nuclear program, and Tehran's control of the Strait of Hormuz," the politician wrote on Telegram.

Earlier, United States President Donald Trump announced that he had stopped "bombing and attacks on Iran for a period of two weeks" as part of a ceasefire agreement tied to the reopening of the waterway.

He also said that Iran had agreed to "many" points of the US proposal, including "no uranium enrichment."
