The Russian army said today it had captured a village near Avdeyevka in eastern Ukraine, calling it a new advance in its offensive in the area. France Press reported, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In a statement, the ministry announced that its soldiers "liberated" the village of Pervomaiske, which is located southwest of Avdeevka, was captured by Russian forces in February, BTA reported.
Russia regularly claims it is advancing in the region against the Ukrainian army, which is running low on ammunition and struggling to recruit new recruits, AFP notes.
