Putin: The terrorists are confused, the saboteurs will receive a serious rebuff

The Russian president congratulated the border guards on the occasion of their holiday

The organizers of the terrorist attacks on Russian territory are confused, the saboteurs will receive a serious rebuff, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

„It is largely thanks to the determination of the border guards that repeated attempts to invade Russian territory by gangs of mercenaries, traitors and enemy sabotage groups have been thwarted. Those who planned these terrorist attacks on our land were confused and met a rude and cruel rebuff, the head of state said. Putin is convinced that the border guards will act in the same way in the future. The President sent a video greeting on the occasion of Border Guards' Day.

„I am confident that in the future you will act as boldly and firmly in solving the problems of a special military operation, effectively coordinating your work with other units of the FSB, with units of the army and navy, with the law enforcement authorities, with the heads of regions and municipalities," the head of state stressed. He noted that the border guards will “rely on the support of people who see them as their reliable defenders”.

Border Guard Day - a professional holiday for personnel and veterans of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia - is celebrated on May 28. On this day in 1918, a border guard was established by decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR. This day became an official holiday only in 1958, when a decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR was issued. In the modern history of Russia, the Day of the Border Guard is celebrated in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated May 23, 1994.
