Kamala Harris gives her first interview as a presidential candidate on CNN on Wednesday

Her debate with Donald Trump will be on September 10

US Vice President Kamala Harris will give a television interview tomorrow CNN's first interview since entering the election campaign a little over a month ago, the television itself announced, quoted by France Press and BTA.

Together with Harris, the candidate for vice president - the governor of the state of Mitsota Tim Walz, with whom Harris will have a campaign event in Georgia, a key state for the outcome of the elections on November 5, will answer the questions of the journalist Dana Bash.

The interview will be broadcast at 9:00 p.m. local time (01:00 GMT on Friday), CNN said.

The fifty-nine-year-old Democrat was under increasing pressure to give a lengthy interview to a major American media outlet. Until now, she reduced communication with representatives of the media to very short conversations with journalists after her travels or meetings with influencers.

The CNN interview, which will be followed by a long-awaited debate with her Republican rival Donald Trump on September 10, underscores the fact that this extraordinary presidential campaign has entered another phase, ten weeks before the election and after a euphoric Democratic convention to nominate their candidate for the White House last week in Chicago.

Harris, who entered the race after Joe Biden's sensational withdrawal on July 21, has since gained some momentum in the polls, but the race remains highly contested.

Donald Trump needs a new push to attract votes beyond his usual base, which is very stable and even more zealous since the July 13 assassination attempt against him, notes AFP.
