Pope Francis' life "is not yet out of danger", announced the medical team caring for the Holy Father at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, BNR reported.

Pope Francis was hospitalized on February 14.

Professor Sergio Alfieri, head of the team treating Pope Francis, said:

"No, the Pope is not out of danger. Both possibilities exist. But whether there is a danger to his life at this moment, the answer is no".

Professor Alfieri also said that the Pope is not bedridden or on a ventilator, is in good spirits, but is aware of the seriousness of his condition and insists that doctors tell the truth about his health.

It was explained that the chronic disease remains, related to viruses, fungi and bacteria. Therefore, Professor Alfieri specified:

"The Pope reads, signs documents, jokes, but has bilateral pneumonia. We will keep him in the hospital for at least the entire next week". The professor further specified that in his opinion the Pope "will recover and return to the Vatican, but will continue to have his chronic pathologies".

It has not yet been decided how the traditional Sunday prayer "Angelus" will be held in "St. Peter" in Rome.
