One person died and 32 were injured, two of them seriously, after a tour bus crashed into a wrecked car on a highway near Los Angeles. The incident occurred about 20 miles east of downtown, the Associated Press reported, citing local police, BTA reports.
The driver of the stopped car died at the scene after the vehicle burst into flames as a result of the impact. According to law enforcement, the bus was carrying a total of 63 people.
„32 passengers were transported to hospitals, two of them in serious condition. The rest have minor to moderate injuries," a police spokesman said.
According to preliminary information, the car suffered a technical failure and stopped in one of the lanes. A little later, it was hit by an oncoming tourist bus.
The highway has now reopened.
