The problem with Iran's nuclear program must be resolved at the negotiating table, French President Emmanuel Macron said after a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Massoud Pezeshkian.

“Iran's nuclear program is a serious problem that must be resolved through negotiations“, Macron wrote in X.

According to the French president, he called on Pezeshkian to return to negotiations as soon as possible, “in order to reach an agreement, which is the only way to deal with the situation“.

“We are ready to contribute and make all the necessary efforts to achieve this goal“, Macron wrote.

The French head of state asked the Iranian president “to avoid escalation".

Four critical buildings in the city of Isfahan were damaged by Israeli shelling on June 13, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said.

Among the damaged facilities was a uranium enrichment plant. “As in Natanz, no increase in radiation levels outside the facility is expected“, the agency said in a statement on X.

Earlier, the IAEA reported that Iran's nuclear facilities in Isfahan had been attacked several times. On June 13, the Israeli Defense Forces reported an airstrike on a nuclear facility in Isfahan, Iran. Uranium production and enrichment facilities, laboratories and infrastructure were destroyed.
