Our pilots are upset - Hegseth gives a press conference on US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities

The briefing will begin at 15:00 Bulgarian time on Thursday

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will hold a press conference on June 26, dedicated to the results of US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social page.

According to him, the press conference with the participation of the head of the Pentagon and other representatives of the US military department will be held at 15:00. Bulgarian time.

It, as Trump specified, will be dedicated to protecting the “dignity of the magnificent American pilots“, referring to the pilots of American bombers and fighters who participated in the strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan on the night of June 22.

Trump said that the military “was very upset“ by media reports that the US strikes on Iran did not lead to the destruction of the main components of the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. According to CNN and other media outlets, according to preliminary assessments by US intelligence, the attack probably delayed Tehran's acquisition of a nuclear bomb by only a few months. As specified in the publications, this assessment was presented by officials of the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), based on an analysis conducted by US Central Command after the US strikes. Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles were not destroyed, and the centrifuges were largely "undamaged," the media emphasized.

The White House and the Pentagon said that the data provided by CNN was not correct. As CIA Director John Ratcliffe and US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard assured on Wednesday, the data obtained shows that Iran's nuclear program was seriously damaged as a result of the US military strikes. Ratcliffe and Gabbard stressed that it would take the Islamic Republic years to rebuild its destroyed nuclear facilities.

According to Trump, Hegsett's press conference will present irrefutable data on the results of the US strike.

Hegsett and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Kaine held a press conference on June 22 to provide information on the US strikes against Iran.
