At least 935 people died in Iran during the 12-day war with Israel, which ended on June 24. This was reported by the Agence France-Presse and Reuters agencies, quoted by BTA.

“935 martyrs were identified during the 12-day war waged by the Zionist regime against our country“, said Iranian judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir at a press conference.

According to him, 132 women and 38 children were among the victims. It is not specified whether all the dead were civilians or whether there were fighters among them.

This is the first official statement by the Iranian authorities containing a specific number of those killed in the conflict. Israel has not yet provided official figures for its losses in the clash, which began after a prolonged escalation in the region.
