Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan believes that the presidents of the US, Ukraine and Russia - Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin - could jointly participate in peace talks between Moscow and Kiev, Turkish state television “TRT Haber“ reported, quoted by BTA.

“What is new about the summit between the leaders is that compared to the past, everyone, including Putin, sees no problem in talking. In principle, there is no problem for Putin, Trump and Zelensky to meet under the hosting of our president,“ Fidan said.

According to Fidan, Russia is ready for a third round of talks and Ukraine's response is expected. After two rounds of talks held in Istanbul on May 26 and June 2, Russia and Ukraine agreed to exchange prisoners of war.

The Turkish foreign minister's comments came from Rio de Janeiro, where he was attending a summit within the framework of the BRICS economic union.

„Turkey is closely watching the BRICS. Our country's position and the way it stands internationally is the reason why Turkey is listened to very carefully in many formats. Here we see an international community that wants to learn from our experience and views. The people who sat around this table are also members of the G-20,“ said Hakan Fidan.

The Turkish foreign minister also stated that his country is making efforts to end the "genocide in Gaza".

„Before Hamas gave its response, we met several times. "We explained that we will do everything possible and work with our partners to find a diplomatic solution. Our wish is for the fire and genocide to end and for humanitarian aid to begin as soon as possible," Fidan said.

The Turkish foreign minister also said that it was still unclear when nuclear talks with Iran would begin.
