The Governor of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina is Ukraine's number one enemy, not Shoigu or Gerasimov. With her economic talent, she is pulling this system from the abyss.
This was stated to OBOZ.UA by Russian opposition journalist and sociologist Igor Yakovenko. According to him, it is self-deception to think that the Russian economy will collapse at any moment and this will stop the war that Vladimir Putin started against Ukraine.
„Yes, the Russian economy is really not in the best shape. But let's clearly distinguish it into civilian and military. The civilian sector will suffer. But the military sector will not. Everything is obvious here. Putin will do everything possible so that the army and weapons do not suffer“, said the Russian analyst.
According to Igor Yakovenko, the probability of the war ending this year is practically zero. He said that Putin has two big advantages.
“Putin has two powerful advantages that should not be ignored. The first is the zero price of human life. This allows him to endlessly throw people into a meat grinder. The second is the absolute lack of a mechanism for converting impoverishment (of Russians) into political consequences. That is, Russians can starve, freeze, but they will not change power. Putin uses these two assets to the fullest. And that is why the war will continue“, said the journalist.
According to Yakovenko, only a heavy military defeat for Russia can end this war. Yakovenko believes that Trump's disappointment with Putin could be a trigger for imposing severe sanctions on Moscow, but "the fate of this war is decided on the battlefield and weapons are the critical factor."
“The destruction of the Russian military-industrial complex (will end the war). And so far we don't see it. Yes, Ukraine is conducting very powerful and talented operations behind enemy lines - in particular, the legendary Operation "Cobweb". But to truly destroy the Russian military-industrial complex, hundreds of such "cobwebs" are needed. Yes, Ukraine produces weapons itself, receives them from Europe and will receive them from the United States. But a breakthrough on the front requires a completely different level of supplies,“ said Yakovenko, according to whom the current levels of weapons supplies to Kiev are not enough to stop Putin.
