China will maintain close communication with Cambodia and Thailand to help consolidate the consensus reached between the two sides on a ceasefire. This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, BTA reports.
The ministry's spokesman, Guo Jiakun, commented on the topic in response to a journalist's question about allegations by the Thai army that Cambodia had violated the truce, which came into effect at midnight.
China urged both sides to remain calm and avoid further escalation, stressing the importance of diplomatic dialogue and compliance with peace commitments.
