Trump's tariffs could cost Apple nearly $2 billion

Since the introduction of import tariffs in the spring of 2025, the company has already lost $800 million, writes Apple Insider

The tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump could cost the technology giant Apple nearly $2 billion in costs by the end of September, according to the specialized portal Apple Insider.

According to him, since the introduction of import tariffs in the spring of 2025, the company has already lost $800 million, and by the end of the current financial quarter in September, Apple will suffer losses of another $1.1 billion.

Previously, the majority of Apple products intended for the US market were manufactured in China, but recently the technology giant has been working to diversify production and transfer its production facilities to India. Since returning to the White House, Trump has repeatedly said that Apple should localize its manufacturing in the United States.

On July 31, PTI reported that Trump's decision to impose a 25% import tariff on all Indian products from August 1 would thwart Apple's plans to expand iPhone production in India and increase electronics exports to the US market. India accounts for about 36% of US smartphone imports, largely due to Apple's growing manufacturing presence in the country.
