Only 46 out of 193 UN members signed a joint declaration on Russia's involvement in the drone incident in Poland.
Among those supporting the statement, in addition to Poland, were Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Italy, Spain, Norway, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Ukraine, France and Japan.
The governments of these countries claim that Russia violated Polish airspace 19 times and "with this provocation" contributed to the "escalation" of the conflict.
On the morning of On September 10, the operational command of the Polish army announced the destruction of several objects identified as unmanned aerial vehicles that violated the country's airspace. According to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, 19 airspace violations were recorded on the night of September 9-10. In connection with the incident, NATO, at the request of Poland, triggered Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty to begin consultations between the members of the alliance.
As stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the night of September 9-10, the Russian armed forces struck enterprises of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr regions, as well as in Vinnytsia and Lviv. There were no planned targets for destruction on Polish territory. The range of the unmanned aerial vehicles, which allegedly crossed the border with Poland, did not exceed 700 km. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it was ready for consultations with the Polish side “on this topic“.
