Which EU countries drive the most electric cars and where are we? - 1

The fleet of electric vehicles makes up only 1.7% of all cars in the EU. However, according to the observations of specialists from Eurostat, the dynamics are impressive - The total number of cars that are exclusively electric is already 4.5 million, which is a 48.5% increase.

But who are the leading countries in the use and purchase of electric vehicles? We begin with the caveat that the Eurostat survey does not include countries such as Norway and Great Britain, because they are not members of the EU.

Thus, residents of Denmark use the most electric cars in the EU - 7.1% of all passenger cars used in the country are electric cars. In addition, electric cars are particularly popular in Sweden - 5.9%, Luxembourg - 5.1% and the Netherlands - 5.0%.

Among the outsiders in the introduction of electric transport, experts from Eurostat identify 14 European countries, among which is Bulgaria. These countries have less than 1% saturation of the fleet with electric cars. The lowest indicators are Cyprus, Greece and Poland. In these countries, the number of electric cars is no more than 0.2% of all cars.

Our country ranks between Romania and Croatia. Out of 27 countries included in the study, Bulgaria is in 21st place.
