Ford bids farewell to its last hot hatch: the countdown has begun - 1

It has quietly become clear that orders for the Focus ST in the UK have been closed. Ford confirmed that no new orders are being accepted for the hot hatch, but dealers still have about 170 unsold cars, so buyers can choose the five-door version. In other countries, the configurator has not yet been shortened: in Germany, the Focus ST is offered at a price of 43,200 euros.

The impending retirement of the entire Ford Focus family has long been confirmed: the last car will roll off the assembly line at the German plant on November 30, 2025. It seems that the tuned versions of the former bestseller will be retired even earlier, and the departure of the ST version will mark the end of an era. Ford has had hot hatches in its range for decades, but first the RS versions fell victim to emissions regulations, and now it's the ST's turn.

In Germany, the Ford Focus ST is left with two combinations: a 2.3 turbo engine with 280 horsepower can be combined with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed preselective robotic transmission. The most expensive X Edition hot hatches are only available with a manual gearbox. In the UK, the only remaining options are with the boring 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine.

After the retirement of the Ford Focus ST, the range will be left with just one cheap, refined petrol model: the Puma ST compact crossover. However, recently the model has not had a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 200 horsepower with a manual gearbox, but only a mild hybrid 1.0 engine (160 hp) with a 7-speed robotic transmission.
