The government of Norway announced the allocation of an additional 100 million USD to Ukraine to support its energy sector, according to a statement published on kingdom government site.
"Norway will provide 1.1 billion NOK (100 million USD) to Ukraine to meet its electricity needs," the statement noted. Over 50% of the energy infrastructure capacity in Ukraine has been destroyed.
„We are in close dialogue with Ukraine on how they can most effectively use these funds. Ukrainians themselves understand better what they need. But it is important to start rebuilding the infrastructure as soon as possible because winter is approaching. Norway hopes that the new funding will make it possible to restore part of the destruction and ensure energy security in Ukraine,” said Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre.
As the government of Norway recalled, since 2022 it has allocated almost $380 million in aid to Ukraine to support its energy sector.
