"Gazprom" delivers Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in a volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side via the Sudzha GIS, 37.2 million cubic meters on December 31. A day earlier, the pumping volume amounted to 42.4 million cubic meters.
Transit through Ukraine remains the only route for supplies of Russian gas to the countries of Western and Central Europe, recalls ag. TASS. Pumping via "Nord Stream" has completely stopped. Gas supplies via "Turkish Stream" and "Blue Stream" are intended for Turkey and the countries of Southern and Southeastern Europe.
The agreement on the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory expires today - December 31, 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there will certainly be no new contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, and Russia and "Gazprom" will survive this fact.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said that Ukraine will stop the transit of Russian gas at 7 am (08:00 Moscow time) on January 1, 2025. At the same time, Shmygal explained that the resumption of transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system will be possible at the request of the European Commission, if this is not Russian gas.
