Crises that cause a painful feeling in the country and a feeling of political stagnation are not something new for Bulgaria, and there is already a banalization of the process. This was said in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the World in Focus" on Radio "Focus"; the director of the sociological agency "Myara" Parvan Simeonov.

Despite this stagnation, two relatively new processes are being detected in political life, one of which is that the two types of opposition-minded people/electorates in Bulgaria seem to be synchronizing. "They synchronized on an intuitive, instinctive level."

The generalized image of the government and mainly the generalized image of Mr. Peevski are apparently such serious irritants that these synchronisms are happening much faster than expected. It's just that at one point, some kind of cold peace seems to form between them.“

The other new process, according to the sociologist, is that Borisov talks a lot, which for him is a sure sign that he is nervous and that he does not like the situation. "This is a sure sign that he does not seem to be comfortable with his relations with Mr. Peevski. "Whether it is true or not that he has fallen into complete political dependence, it is clearly unpleasant for Mr. Borisov that people are talking like that, and he is trying to somehow distract him," Simeonov pointed out, adding that in his opinion Borisov is slightly stuck politically in this situation. "It is entirely possible that Peevski, rushing, wanting everything immediately, etc., will at some point become so unacceptable to the mass taste that Borisov will open the door to other interactions and try to change direction in time, before he has a political catastrophe.“

Crises give politicians the opportunity to mobilize their forces and present themselves in a more positive light, the sociologist also believes, giving the example of Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev, who not only managed to mobilize his community, presenting the demands of the opposing side as a form of blackmail during the transport crisis, but in the current garbage crisis it is even easier for him, because the opposing side is big business. "Such an image is sought, it is created and I would say successfully. For now, Terziev is more likely to be given the image of a public figure fighting the mafia.“ Borisov has also entered into such a role, which is wiser, more conciliatory: "He feels good in such waters because he did this many times back in time, when he could balance between his own party and different partners.“

In political stagnation, one always waits for the arrival of a new party, the expert also pointed out. "In politics, it is good to rotate with someone, it is good not to take all the power from time to time. It is good that not every problem is your problem, because you have taken all the power. Borisov knows this. I am not sure that Peevski knows this. I am beginning to wonder why he acts like this only going forward, lest it turns out that he ends up in an artificial ambush.“
