The Social Assistance Agency has issued an order to grant heating assistance to 337,945 people and families. Their number is nearly 13,000 more than last year.
The targeted assistance is granted for a period of five months – from November 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. Its amount for the entire winter season is 606.70 leva. The amount is nearly 10% more than last year.
The right to receive heating benefits is granted to individuals and families whose average monthly income for the previous 6 months, before the month of submitting the application-declaration, is lower than or equal to an individually determined differentiated heating income. By order of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov, a correction coefficient was determined in order to prevent pensioners from losing support due to the increase in pensions from July 1.
The payment of the benefit is made from the 15th to the end of the month following the month of issuing the order for its granting.
