Prof. Marinov: The vote on April 19 will not solve the political crisis. There will be another parliamentary election this year

"The composition of the parliament will be of 6 parties - 4 plus 2. Prof. Marinov: The vote on April 19 will not solve the political crisis. There will be another parliamentary election this year - 1

A government, if there is one after the elections on April 19 this year, will be short-term and this is the best option, but there may not be a government, predicted to the Bulgarian National Radio Prof. Alexander Marinov, political scientist, co-founder of the party "Bulgaria can" and former chairman of the Strategic Council to President Rumen Radev.

According to him, it cannot be said that the BSP holds the key to a government, "because even if he enters the National Assembly, I wish Krum Zarkov would manage to jump the barrier, Radev's formation and the BSP would not have a majority of 121 seats":

"Someone else is needed! Who will it be? The composition of the parliament will consist of 6 parties - 4 plus 2. It is most likely that Radev's formation will seek a partnership with the PP-DB, since there is a coincidence in the thesis of the fight against corruption and the oligarchy. But since the PP leader calls Radev's position on Ukraine shameful, this will not facilitate cooperation".

Prof. Marinov believes that whatever cooperation is reached between Radev and the PP-DB, it will not be permanent, but temporary and tactical:

"I am convinced that these elections will not lead to a permanent and cardinal solution to the crisis in the Bulgarian political system. There will be another election - parliamentary, this year. There is no way to form a sustainable majority with similar principles and long-term goals with the likely composition of the parliament. There may be a new assembly, but its fate will be like the previous ones. High expectations and hopes are addressed to Radev. What is forgiven to others because it is natural for them, will not be forgiven to Radev".

According to Prof. Marinov, Rumen Radev will not be laconic for much longer, because the deadline for registration of lists expires on Tuesday and his formation as a new party must announce its program and election platform.

"No matter how valuable a political leader is, there are no less important things and what this party offers".

In the program "Something More", Prof. Marinov predicted that there would be a higher electoral turnout on April 19 and warned:

"The higher the electoral turnout, the more modest Radev's victory will be. That is why the lists are important, because they will tell us the potential of the new formation - whether people are capable of waging a political struggle".

The political scientist commented that he would be surprised if there were no compromising evidence in the election campaign. And he predicted that GERB would rely on the amazing ability of their leader to survive.

"Look at GERB, they are not launching strong attacks against Radev and PP-DB, they are leaving all doors open and others to lead the battle with Peevski", believes Prof. Marinov.

And he warned that Delyan Peevski will neither disappear from Bulgaria, nor will he run away, nor will he hide.

"One should not underestimate the organizational potential of his formation and its influence in a number of regions. This formation is preparing for a serious battle. That is why I say that there will be no serious outcome after the elections on April 19. "There will be no radical change that society needs," argues Prof. Alexander Marinov.
