Our student is the first Bulgarian to win gold from the two most prestigious - prestigious international chemistry olympiads in the world. Viktor Lilov, who is 17 years old, won the international Mendeleev Olympiad in China and caused the admiration of scientific circles, Nova TV reported.
„We prepared in the Olympic laboratory at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, where we emphasized experimental methods and preparations for the experimental round of the Mendeleev Olympiad,” explains Victor.
During the Olympics, teams from all over the world gather in China. “This year, China and Vietnam appeared with teams of 14 and 10 people, which also turned out to be extremely strong competition. "The Chinese performed extremely well”, adds the young scientist.
Victor Lilov wins the second gold medal for Bulgaria, but he is not the only one in the successes for our country. Pavel Nikolov is also a gold medalist in chemistry. Advises people not to be afraid of science. “If I, who am more lazy, have managed to achieve such success in chemistry, then it is not terrible”, he jokes.
If the formulas in chemistry are clear, then there is no exact formula for good friendship. However, Pavel and Viktor managed to find her too. Their teachers Hristo Chanev and Daniela Tsekova also contributed to the success of the two.
In the plans of the two friends for the future, science comes first. Their hopes are that they will provoke other young chemists to follow their path.
