On Blvd. "Patriarch Euthymius" there will also be a bike lane that connects seven of the existing bike lanes.
There will also be a bus lane, which will give priority to urban transport, which currently moves at a speed of only 12 km/h, the Metropolitan Municipality added.
The Metropolitan Municipal Council is yet to decide whether the blue zone will be extended on Sunday as well.
However, public dissatisfaction against the reorganization of traffic in the central part of the city continues. One of the busiest metropolitan boulevards – "Vitosha" Blvd. remains with two lanes of traffic.
The reorganization of traffic started from "Patriarch Euthymius" Blvd., where initially only re-asphalting was planned, but later it became clear that bus lanes and bike lanes will be built and traffic lanes will be limited to two. According to experts from "Save Sofia" this will help those living in the area to have a place to park. Traffic will also be eased.
