BJD-Passenger transport“ intends to gradually introduce video surveillance systems both in the locomotives and motor trains, as well as in the passenger cars owned by the company, stated the Acting Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeikov in response to a question posed by the People's Representative from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“ Ivan Belchev, and related to video surveillance of trains and insurance in case of damages.
„So far, a successful experiment has been carried out to implement a video surveillance system in the locomotives and motor trains. The installation of video recorders in locomotive cabs and control cabs of motor trains is expected to help reduce encroachments on rolling stock and the railway, such as stone throwing, placing objects on the railway line and trespassing on the railway. All these actions will be recorded and will facilitate the identification of their perpetrators, with the aim of holding them accountable, Georgi Gvozdeikov also points out.
After finalizing the initial stage – implementation of the system in locomotives and motor trains, BDZ will take steps to introduce it in passenger cars as well, he reports.
In response to a question about property insurance, Minister Gvozdeikov specifies that BDZ has an active insurance contract.
