Two young women with extremely high-risk pregnancies have been saved by the teams of the "Mother's Home", the hospital reports.
The first complicated case is related to extremely low platelet values (thrombocytopenia) in a 36-year-old woman from Veliko Tarnovo.
The woman's pregnancy went smoothly until, in the seventh month, blood tests revealed low platelet levels and a blood clotting disorder. The woman was hospitalized twice in the hospital in Veliko Tarnovo and was directed to the "Mother's Home", where she also stayed for a short time.
According to the plan, the “Mother's Home” month before the birth, but due to premature leakage of amniotic fluid, she was admitted as an emergency at the 38th week of gestation.
"In the given case, mother and baby are like jumped vessels when she is ill and he is also at risk. The baby is also prone to low platelet counts and has a high risk of bleeding immediately after birth. And these babies must be removed as quickly as possible so they don't suffer,” explained Dr. Lubomir Dzherov, the obstetrician-gynecologist who performed the section.
The second case is a 26-year-old woman from Berkovitsa, who underwent an emergency caesarean section in the 33rd week of pregnancy. due to placental abruption. This is a serious life-threatening condition for both the mother and the baby, in most cases it is accompanied by infant mortality. The delivery was performed by the team of Prof. Dr. Ivan Kostov.
