The duplication of leaders in several party lists for the upcoming elections on June 9 speaks badly for Bulgarian democracy. There are no illusions that these leaders and a part of the deputies have a connection with their constituencies.
This is what the journalist and analyst Emilia Milcheva commented on the party lists before the BNR.
"No one drops the "bone", but in fact no one drops the "bread and the knife" and they give out, whether parliamentary nominations or other goods. But all this centralization does not help Bulgarian politics, as it separates many people from politics. These dubbings of leaders and lists full of quite unknown people show that the personnel benches of a large part of the parties are quite short", Milcheva shared her impression.
With the parties thus arranged and formed, she does not see a single one from any party who would hold their party leader accountable. As an example, Emilia Milcheva pointed to ITN.
"I don't see from ITN who would hold Slavi Trifonov accountable for keeping lists and he refused the previous time and the next ones entered. I don't think there is such a person in any other party, someone who would hold the leader accountable for ineffective actions. In Bulgaria, obedience reigns in every single party," she commented.
According to her, the way politicians talk should not be, "I promise", but "I will do this project for this much money, then".
"Be something specific. In the pre-election programs, there are endless jokes", Milcheva also said.
