The Minister of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom Leo Doherty arrives on a two-day visit to Bulgaria , BNR reported.
The British Embassy announced the visit. The information was also confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
Leo Doherty will have meetings with the Acting Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov and a lecture at the Military Academy in Sofia. The topic of the meetings is expected to be military cooperation and the upgrading of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership, signed in October 2023.
Part of it declares support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, its post-war reconstruction and bringing perpetrators of international crimes to justice. This is not Leo Doherty's first visit to our country.
As Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Europe, he visited our country a year ago.
