The National Taxi Union is starting an indefinite protest in Sofia, BNT reported.< /strong>
The taxi drivers will express their displeasure at all of the currently 131 places in the capital designated by the municipality for parking. The trade union started indefinite protest actions after the mayor Vasil Terziev did not respond to their request for a meeting. Dissatisfaction escalated after the new organization of "Vitosha" Blvd., where the taxi stand was removed.
The industry stated that 22 taxi stands have already been removed from “center“ and “first“ in the capital, without any debate. Their requests are for more parking spaces and to establish communication between the industry and the Center for Urban Mobility regarding the repatriation of cars parked on the places designated for taxis.
