Voter turnout in Turkey is low - 1

Election day is proceeding normally in Turkey. So far, voter turnout has been low.

That sums up the BTA.

A total of 166 polling stations have been opened in Turkey where Bulgarian citizens can vote for the National Assembly. In diplomatic missions and consulates, voters can also vote for members of the European Parliament.

More than 23,500 voting applications have been submitted in Turkey.

The voter turnout in Ankara is weak. In the Turkish capital, Bulgarians vote in three polling stations - in the embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as in the neighborhoods of Pursaklar and Sinjan with Bulgarian expatriates. By 12:00 p.m., 53 of our compatriots have exercised their right to vote.

The situation in Istanbul is similar. Two polling stations were opened in the Avdzhalar region, which is compactly populated by Bulgarian emigrants. By noon, just over 500 people had voted.

A problem was reported with a voting machine in Tekirdag city.
