In connection with received media inquiries regarding an incident involving a judge from the city of Varna, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) informs the following:
A pre-trial proceeding has been established with the first action on the investigation, which is led by an investigator in the “Investigative“ Department. of SGP. The investigation is carried out under the direction and supervision of the SGP, as the case concerns a magistrate.
Witnesses are questioned, other investigative actions are carried out, and the necessary expertise will be assigned in order to establish the factual situation and whether a crime has been committed under Art. 343b, para. 1 of the Criminal Code.
